The first snow.

This was the sight that met me this morning, after a bad night sleep. It doesn't matter how long, dark and cold the winter is here in the Nordic countries, the first snow ALWAYS brings a smile to my face! I rather have a REALLY snowful winter than a sloppy one.

Tweet tweet!

OK, so while I was completely bored by Facebook last week, I decided to get Twitter, just to see what goes on there. Yes, I know I'm far behind the trend. So far I can't say I'm very impressed. Twitter in my opinion is completely pointless unless you have a celebrity you want to "stalk". but even then, most of them only write news about themselves and in the end you could just read it all on a fan site. Most of their tweets are: "Come here and see me do this!" which actually don't help you much unless you live in the same city which "this" is happening. Or maybe they will post some pictures of themselves to fish for compliments. Once you've given them what they want, there is no way little you will get what YOU want; a response and validation that you actually exist to them. Too bad. You can of course follow other things, like your favourite restaurant, sports team or even holiday destination, which might provide you with more useful information. Except for two of my best friends, I can't say that I have gotten a single tweet for any of my followers. Most of them I don't know, and when I try to contact them, there is no answer to get. Why are they following me? STOP FOLLOWING ME! I can see you outside my window, lurking behind the trashcan, waiting for something, but refusing to come in to keep me company. Twitter is the worst communication form I have ever seen. Sountrack for Twitter: "Somebody's Watching Me" with Rockwell.

Question Round 2!

Ok, so here is a new Question Round. For two reasons: 1. I feel bad that nothing interesting is going on in my life, and with the risk of sounding arrogant, I leave you all "hangin'" and crying for no updates of my life. 2. Unfortunately for you non-fans out there, I am currently working on a very exciting art exhibition that's gonna be in Oslo in november about Michael Jackson, so that's pretty much what's going on in my life at the moment. I hope you can bare with me.

This is just a preview before "my photographer" comes over and takes a proper photo, but here you can see what I've been working on the past few weeks. And I've already started the next painting as I have a Michael Jackson exhibition the 1st of November in Oslo.

As you might remember, I talked about my favourite ancient Egyptian Pharaoh in my Anwers to Question Round 1 video. I thought that I would post a few pictues of him here, and also a picture of the famous (and almost only artwork) of his wife Nefertiti. It might also be interesting for all to know, that Akhenaten was the father of the famous boy king; Tutankhamon. A typical family scene from Akhenaten's time. Nefertiti. Some of you fellow Michael Jackson geeks out there might notice that this woman is the very queen pictured in Michael Jackson's music video "Remember the Time". However, Eddie Murphy's Pharaoh character is indeed Ramesses, which has always irritated me.

Fun and productive weekend!

I sure had a fun weekend behind me! Eventhough I turned out sick and have a fever as we "speak", I can't ignore the first view of Michael Jackson Bad tour FINALLY on DVD (yes I haven't seen it before now, shame on me) that came out at the same time as the 25th anniversary of his album Bad. In my opinion his best work ever. To celebrate this we watched it on saturday, Ann-Iren and her daughter, Hege and I. I can not begin to tell you how long we've waited for this concert in DVD. We also had lots of fun making a little comedy Michael Jackson fans skit that I've put out on youtube. Check it out:

Merry Christmas!

Yes, you heard me! Because here in Norway Christmas has already begun. Already in late September (that's ONE month after august people! August is still summer here!!), the stores had started to put out one of the big Christmas traditions here in Norway; Christmas marzipan. There are many different shapes for this chocolate nowadays, but the classic one is what we all are during this season; the Christmas Pig. However, my friend is addicted to this chocolate, so I can't say that I haven't had any either. And not only that! The traditional Norwegian Christmas soda has also arrived, as well as the good old Coca-Cola Santa Claus!

Vernissage for Autumn Exhibition.

On saturday I headed down to Gjøvik Gård in Norway to be part of the vernissage for the Autumn Exhibition. I'm part of that group exhibition and it's a good thing since it it juried and that is always a plus on your art CV. The speeches and so on was a bit long in my opinion, and especially when the entertaiment was a guy playing the clarinet and a girl playing guitar and singing WITHOUT a microphone. We got a little beautiful tea candle holder from our local glass factory, and one artist got the jury's award. There were so many people attending the exhibition that it was almost impossible to walk around. But that's a good thing. I hope one day a solo exhibititon of mine could have the same crowd.
